The Sisters Grimm
I just read a juvenile book "Fairy-Tale Detectives" and I enjoyed it. It's the first book in a series called "The Sisters Grimm" and it's written by Michael Buckley.
It has lots of fairy tale characters in a modern setting, somewhat like "Once Upon A Time" TV series. The sisters are orphans who are placed with a lady who claims to be their grandmother. That part reminded me of "A Series of Unfortunate Events," but the Sisters Grimm book series is more cheerful. The sisters get along pretty well. They meet fairies, a giant, a magic mirror, Prince Charming, the three little pigs and many more fairy tale characters. The girls have to become detectives when fairy tale characters get into mischief and mayhem. Especially a dangerous giant! It turns out that being detectives for fairy tale characters is what the Grimm sisters' ancestors have been doing for generations...all the way back to the famous Brothers Grimm. I found it enjoyable fun figuring out who was from what fairy tale. There were a few activities after the end of the book, which was a clever addition. Stormy

I remember my cousin recommended those books to me, and I believe she even gave me the first in the series. I don't think I've read it, though.
