What? The stores still decide to sell goods that are no longer worth anything? I hope that those who buy the membership cards will be able to receive a refund from the shop once they find out the news.
Really now, some aspects of the game were dropped away so suddenly that it almost seems as though it was a "last minute" decision to abandon it.

Oh goodness! I hope the employees will take those off the racks soon! I bet it had to be heartbreaking for you to see those I agree with you, Alexia. I also think it was a last minute decision because it was so sudden.

To be honest, it's beyond ridiculous at this point that Disney has not notified these stores by now to remove these items. I was in the Target toy section the other day and most of the toys still have codes to unlock outfits, silly sweets and diamonds. I kind of feel like they are rubbing salt into the wound at this point.

Yeah! Today I saw almost 50 3-month membership cards at Toys R Us for PH! Seeing it brought back memories. *sigh* I do not get why Disney hasn't notified stores to get rid of anything to do with PH. This is all so strange and ridiculous.

I'm guessing the Disney company is not necessarily "obliged" to inform the retailers of the changes. They would have already earned the money from that stock of membership cards, so the stores would be at a loss from the closure of the games.
I just wanted to mention that, while I hardly know anything about US law, there should definitely be something similar to the Fair Trading Act or the Consumer Guarantees Act that is available here in NZ. Those membership cards almost sound like false information or false advertising to me, so you can at least come back to the shop and ask for a refund after your purchase (even though it's not really a large sum of money to argue over). Membership cards are not sold here where I live, but if I had the opportunity I would have at least walked up to the desk and asked them if they know about the news.

I read this post last night right before I went to bed so I had a dream about going to Toys R Us and seeing the membership cards.
That's so weird! Disney really should notify the stores... Where I live, all the stores stopped selling the cards earlier last year (not sure why), so I had to start buying my memberships online. Wouldn't it be nice if Pixie Hollow was reopening so they decided to keep the cards in stores? I wish that could be true... |

That is very weird. Disney needs to tell the stores to get rid of those cards, since they are worthless nowadays, with Pixie Hollow being closed, unless they are reopening soon.

Yeah, that's pretty bad.
It disgusts me that my local Target store is selling Disney Fairy items at a regular price that still advertise codes for Pixie Hollow. If you ask me, they should clearance those items, at least 15% off. I know, I know, they are still really cool toys, but it's like false advertisement; which is usually frowned upon. |

It is the absolute definition of false advertisement. But, something tells me that Disney doesn't care. Crazy thought, right?
