They have updated the Ingredient Guide again. The usual green color is replaced by white, and the format has been slightly changed.
New games have been added, and the Tearoom & Coliseum games do not count in the games section anymore. Also, the rarity of ingredients has changed -- each category is different now (there are Wilderness ingredients in the "Most Common" section too!) Here it is: Updated Ingredient Guide |

Thx Iris!
But I don't understand one thing - Feathers are ''common''? |

Yep, it seems so, except that it's only applicable in Bubbly Bog.
Here is something that can help you. Bubbly Bog: Truffle, Feather. Silver Trees: Bits Of Metal, Yellow Gems. Never Mine: Bits of Metal, Blue gems. |

Thanks for letting us know Iris but I am starting to think that the NC don't actually play this game. NO WAY should feathers be put in any column except for the very rare (same as metal). I am lucky to get 1 or 2 in a trip and have been known to get 0. I have no problem in finding ivy or lilies in the meadows and at least I can get those from a game if I'm desperate for a large amount.

So, after looking at the new chart and thinking about it I have two theories.
1) They are grouped in their trade value rather than their ease of being found in the hollow. 2) The Never Council is counting on a broken Abacus.

The current Ingredients Guide is still out-of-date, lol.
If you look at the Trade Ingredients page on the DOW Wiki that Em has done, there are many differences between the two. The Truffles, Yellow Gems and Feathers need to be moved to "Rare" section, and the Bits of Metal are supposed to be "Very Rare". Frankly, I would put all the wilderness ingredients into the "Super Duper Rare" section and call it quits. |

I hope that if you already know this, you don't mind me saying it again but today I was flying Iris around the Hollow and she had to trade some ivy for spider silk at Trinket's Treetop Housewares. When she clicked the + button, it happens to be that one ivy equals five spider silk!! I did not know that.

I think Jezzi might be right. I don't think the NC plays the game.
I don't go by their chart anymore. I write everything down in a notebook and then if I am missing something I rely on my notebook to find it or in the wiki. |

Good idea Breezy. It's much better to trust your own sources than other ones that might not be as reliable -- do you mind if I borrow that notebook idea?

I have updated all the ingredient-related pages of the wiki. I found it odd that the most current Ingredient Guide did not mention Sunbeam Bend. I also thought it was strange that despite moving around the Rarity of some of the Wilderness ingredients, when using the Trade Ingredients feature they are still worth the old values. That really didn't seem fair to me -- if a Truffle is going to be a *most common* ingredient, it should be available to trade as such.
Honestly, I totally agree with Alexia -- all the Wilderness ingredients should be considered Super Duper Rare! None of them are prolific in the Hollow and all are very difficult to find. Hope the updates help everyone! ~ Em

Thank you for the updates Em. I think the wiki is definitely more updated then the NC guides to the Hollow. The NC should give you the job for the updates to the guides. |
