Time Zones Maps and Help
This might help.
United States: You have to do subtraction. Looking at that map, I see that Hawaii is 2 hours earlier than Pacific. The next meet and greet is Tuesday April 28th, Pacific Time, 7 AM to 9 AM. So for Hawaii, subtract 2 hours. That gives 5 AM to 7 AM for Hawaiians and Aleutian Islanders. International: Click to enlarge Stormy

I just discovered a few more mistakes. Opps. THIS IS NOW A FULL REWRITE BELOW GMT, TO THE CORRECT TIMES. Sorry guys, this thing is complicated. That is great Melody!!! I just wishh all forum fairies would use this thread. I get asked a lot but I am Not a time zone fairy This is a wonderful thread & everyone should learn their own time zone. 1 great tip for those that are time zone challenged is that the difference between time zones themselves doesn't change! Say you are from Malasia/China you are always 12 hours ahead of Eastern time. Once you figure out where your time zone is at according to 1 of the USA time zones you can always figure out what time things are at here on the forum!! Great huh!

I just notice that parts of Texas and all of the Hawaiian Islands do not recognize daylight savings time... so Jenny if you read this... you are actually three hours before PST until October when the time changes again, then it will go back to two hour before PST... |

I know there are some states that don't do the daylight savings thing... I think Indiana is one of them... not sure about the others... It's kinda hard to keep up on all this time zone stuff!! I don't think Kansas does either, come to think of it... My hubby has family that live in those places, so we have to keep up with their zones so we know what time we are calling them! lol

More on finding your time zone
Jenny,
You have to know where you live to figure this out. It will be useful your whole life. First, think about your state or country. Then go to the maps I put in the first post in this thread. Find your state or country, and see the time zone name for where you live. You might have to ask someone who lives where you live. Ask them how to find your country or state on the map if you can't find it. Then go to post 2, right under my post at the beginning of this thread. Melody Moonriver's post shows you what time her next event is happening by time zone. So look in her list and you will find your zone listed and the time of her next event listed. Stormy P.S. We have to have time zones because the Earth is shaped like a ball, and so when the sun is right overhead for some people, people on the opposite side of the Earth have midnight. You could say the sun is right under their feet when it is midnight.
