Favorite Flowers?
(I'm not sure if such a thread already exists, but if so, let's make another one anyway!)
As Spring is blooming again for most of you by now (while some of us are saying farewell to the warmer days ), it's a good time to think about the pretty things that nature has to offer. So, my question to you is: What are your Top 3 favorite flowers? Also, try to add a reason for why you love each one. Maybe the flower is related to a particular memory, or maybe it's pixie perfect for a fairy outfit! Try to think of something special - who knows, maybe someone else will come across a flower they haven't thought of before and add it to their favorites list too! Here is my list of those flowers that make my day whenever I see them: 1) Hydrangeas. The geometrical shapes of their petals and the way they grow in clusters make them vibrant and unique. Also their soft, blending colors are beautiful - they look gorgeous in any color! 2) Calla lilies. Simple but bold, and at the same time very elegant. I think a calla lily would look really well if tailored into a fairy dress, it would be a very classic look. 3) I know I'm not being very creative, but my third choice is Roses. There is a reason why roses are so popular, after all! There is nothing more pleasant than their swirl of soft petals and their unobtrusive scent. A bouquet of roses is the perfect gift for any occassion. My favorite roses would be those in a shade of soft peach. I'd love to see what you all decide to share!

1. Daisies-they are just such happy flowers
2. Violets/african violets-I love the color and my mom always has a few pots of them around the house so they just remind me of home. 3. Wildflowers, esp bluebonnets- my grandmother was from Texas, and they remind me of her. |

This is truly hard to do for there are tooooooo many beautiful flowers. I'll pick three that I like and know the names of
Camellia - a nice little flower that looks like it could be a cute dress. I find them to be simple and sweet. And love the pink ones Bird of Paradise - the wild, crazy flower that reminds me of a bird. I like these since they have lots of spunk to them. Poinsettia - the beautiful classic, stylish Christmas flower. I love how it symbolizes Christmas and makes me excited for the winter season. This is certainly a favorite flower of mine. Lemon tree - yes I know this is not a flower, however it is defiently worth mentioning. See lemon trees very beautiful with green leaves grow the most fine and delectable fruits lemons. Lemons are beautiful in their yellow color and are used in many different foods. Lemons are mostly viewed as sour by the consumer, but a true lover sees the sweetness of the lemon |

1. Lilies. (Stargazer) It's been my favorite since I was little. It's really eye catching.
2. Hibiscus. They remind me of tropical places like Hawaii. I used to have one, but I accidentally plant it in the wrong spot. It wasn't a good spot for plants. |

What a wonderful thread! Roses~ I have loved roses since I was a little girl. I always associated them with love after I saw Beauty and the Beast. They are just so beautiful and the way they smell has always calmed me. Tiger Lilies~ I love Tiger Lilies because of a story I read when I was a little girl. I can't remember the name of it but it was about a little girl with freckles. She was telling her grandfather that she was ugly because of her freckles and he told her that every little girl looks like a flower and she got mad and said "What flower has freckles?!" and ran to her room and cried herself to sleep. When she woke up, there was a Tiger Lily on her pillow. To this day I tear up when I tell this story, it is so beautiful Tulips and Daisies~ I have always loved Tulips and Daisies. They are always the first flowers to grow when Spring starts where I live. They have always reminded me of fresh starts.

Do I have to post a picture? I'm not quite sure how to post pictures, but if I need to I could go find a guide about it!
1. Daisies: I created my fairy when I was really little, and I named her Daisy. Since then, the nickname Daisy has stuck with me, and Daisies have become my favorite flower 2. Red Roses: I love roses. A Red roses symbolizes for Strength and Love, and I've grown up with Red Roses growing in our yard. 3. Blue Carnations: They're really pretty, and everyone in my family loves them! |

Favorite Flowers
Well choosing a favorite flower is so difficult. I like Bleeding Hearts, Day lilies, Fuchsias, Butterfly Bush. There are just too many beautiful flowers to choose just one.

What a great idea for a thread at this time of year, Onionleaf!
Hmm... Actually, it's pretty hard for me to choose just three. There are so many beautiful flowers that deserve to be mentioned! But here are some that come to mind... In no particular order. Lotus blossoms I think lotus blossoms are absolutely gorgeous. I love the shapes of their petals, and how their coloring goes from really pale near the center to a brighter pink at the petal tips. A pond with a surface covered with lotus blossoms is truly a beautiful sight. There's also the fact that lotus blossoms grow roots in muddy, dank pond bottoms. I think it's pretty amazing that something so beautiful could grow out of that. Lilies Lilies have always been one of my favorites. I've always thought they were very elegant looking flowers. I love the shape of their petals and the way they curl back from the center of the flower. A few of my favorite types of lilies are calla lilies (their shape is so unique! I totally agree with you, Onionleaf, they would make a beautiful fairy dress.), tiger lilies, and the ones show in the picture, which are Casablanca lilies. Cherry Blossoms I'm not sure if these count. But for me, cherry blossoms really are the flowers that represent spring. I love the way they can make an entire orchard look so amazingly beautiful. I've once been to a cherry blossom festival, and it really was spectacular. Other flowers that are definitely among my favorites would have to be orchids (really elegant and rare), roses (which I believe deserve a place on every list of most beautiful flowers), and jasmine flowers (I just love their smell).

Carnations: I'm not sure why I like them, I guess I can't remember? But I just love their smell, so clover-y; and they come in all kinds of colors. I have mini carnations growing right now, although I like the bigger versions more.
Roses: There's a bit of a tie between roses and carnations. Just when I think I like one more than the other, I think of something wonderful about the other. I love the smell of them, and each one has a slightly different scent. I have pretty peach roses that have a very gentle scent, like refreshing rain mixed with tea. My favorite color for a rose is pink; I also like the pale purple one. Star Jasmine: There used to be this flower growing on the side of our house, so I grew up with it and its smell is so nostalgic. I love it. Morning Glory: The ones called Blue Heaven, but I also love the ones with a mixture of blue and purple together. I think I've always liked these because of their name, it sounds dreamy. They only last a day, and the wind is not kind to them, but when they bloom they are so pretty. Someday, when I have my own garden, I will grow all of these tenfold. My Favorite flowers are Tiger Lilies, Forget-Me-Nots, Irises & Roses.
Tiger Lilies- Well since i'm born near Halloween i've always loved the colors black and orange and my kinder-garden teacher use to tell us that Tiger Lilies are the Halloween flower because of it's colors. XD also because growing up Peter Pan was always my favorite Disney movie i thought it was cool that the princesses is name is Tiger Lily so it became a favorite flower.
Irises- I love Irises because they are so pretty and i just love to grow them really is the main reason they are a favorite because i have an easy time growing them. Roses- I love Roses because My Favorite Aunt had a garden full of like almost every color of roses so i just loved to help her grow them. Forget-Me-Nots- Forget-Me-Nots are my other favorite Flower because of a Poem my Favorite Uncle use to tell me that when making me a flower crown out of Forget-Me-Nots that's why when he passed away I got a ring that say FORGET*ME*NOT on it and where it every day. (The Poem) People~ So seldom say I Love You and then ~ it's either too late or love goes so when i tell you ~ I love you It doesn't mean I know you'll never go only that~~~~~ I wish you didn't have too...... I really have no idea who wrote the poem but it always makes me think to never forget the ones you love and tell them you love them and so it always brings me back to the flowers Forget-Me-Nots. |

Favorite Flowers
That is a wonderful Poem.
Sometimes we do have to say good-by and that is a difficult thing to do. It is so important to say I love you to our family and friends while they are still here. Someday they won't be and then it is to late.
