Thanks Eve, Flora and Olivia! I'm glad you enjoyed reading my story. It was definitely fun to write! Bess's melodramatic episode is my favourite part, too!
I hope everyone enjoyed expressing their creativity this Art Month!

Thanks for the Art Month thread, Eve!
Although it's February, I wanted to share one last story that I wrote in spirit of the last day of Art Month. This story was written in the perspective of my wonderful friend Misty Starblossom. Wintry Art After adding the finishing touches to my drawing, I pinned it to the wall. I admired all the artwork that was sprawled across the room. Yet, I felt an odd sensation of emptiness. "I'm missing something." I frowned. "I've done countless sketches and paintings and drawings... but I should try something new this Art Month!"In my spur of excitement, I whirled around the room and peered out the window at the stream below. That's when I spotted my friend Misty, who was kneeling by the brink. Then an idea surged through me, hitting me like a crashing wave. "A sculpture!" I exclaimed, my eyes sparkling. "An ice sculpture!" I swept out the door and greeted my friend, the frost-talent fairy. "Misty!" "Hi, Misty!" She giggled. "Would you be able to help me with an art project I'm working on?" I asked. "I need you to freeze the water for me." Misty eagerly agreed and I began to summon the water with my arms outstretched. The surface broke as a sphere of water emerged from the stream. I guided it until it hovered before me and gave Misty a nod. With a quick blast of frost, Misty turned the water to ice. "Wow, thank you, Misty!" I beamed, eyeing the beautifully lustrous block of ice. "We should bring it to the Winter Woods before it melts," Misty advised. Once the block of ice was clad with shimmering pixie dust, we took flight toward Evergreen Overlook. As we landed in a vast clearing, I noticed that a new snowfall had settled. The crisp snow was so perfectly pristine—perfect enough to draw in. "Snow art!" I grinned at Misty. "Let's draw... a snowflake!" I ran across the clearing, compacting the fresh snow. Misty followed me, dancing and leaping, but stepping cautiously. We continued drawing lines and forms in the snow with our feet. Once we were completely exhausted from all the running and laughing, we rested on an evergreen bough and peered down at our masterpiece. In the snow below, we had drawn an immense snowflake. "I never knew snow art could be so amazing!" Misty said, observing our artwork. "I should start carving my ice sculpture," I remarked. "Thanks for your help, Misty!" "No problem! I was going to go ice skating in the Winter Woods, anyway." "Skating?" I repeated, sensing a flicker of excitement. "Would you mind if I joined you?" "Of course not!" Misty laughed. We flew toward the ice rink in Snowcap Glade with frenzied anticipation. When we arrived, I pulled on my skates and smoothly drifted onto the ice. As I glided across, I felt as graceful as a swan. Misty and I danced and twirled, marking exquisite curves and loops in the ice. I've always loved ice skating and its sense of serenity and freedom. But today, I realized that skating was truly a form of art all its own. Later that afternoon, I returned to Evergreen Overlook to find that our snow art had disappeared beneath a new layer of snow. However, I smiled, remembering the fun time Misty and I had shared. I turned to the block of ice and brushed the snow away to reveal its glistening surface. Inspired by their elegance and poise, I carved a swan. I had never felt so in harmony with my art. The ice and I seemed to work as one, freeing the swan from within the ice. When I was done, I left the ice sculpture in the clearing for everyone to enjoy. "Now I know why Art Month is in the winter!"

( Misty, we make a great pair. Water and frost talent go really well together! |
