The Capitol people scream, smile, and cry at the sight of us tributes. We're pretty popular here. I smile and wave, just as I was instructed to.
I sneak a glance at Peter who has already won the whole crowd over with just his smile. I lean over and whisper, "Nice job." He looks at me and grins.

Lessie

I nervously waited for our turn to ride around the stadium. My heart was beating out of my chest. This would be their first real look at me. Image was everything right now. I silently thanked Abram for making me look prettier than I really am.
I watched everyone go before us. Since we were from District 12, we'd be going last.
At last, the horses started moving forward. I waved in a childlike manner and smiled at the audience. People were cheering at us, throwing flowers, screaming out hysterically. They must really like people who are going to die soon.

Our chariot pulls out, and we begin going through. I nervously grab Seth's hand, he doesn't flinch, but he squizes it tighter. I begin waving, and smiling, the crowds cheer. After I feel a bit more comfortable, I go into my fake self, pretending I like this whole thing. I blow kisses and wink, and wave, blow more kisses, wink, wave. Suddenly, a chant rings in my ears, their shouting my name, and our district loudly. They'll call my name, then Seth's then roar out our district's name. Roses are thrown, and pictures are taken, soon we pull up in a large courtyard. In front of us, sitting on a thrown type thing is President snow. Then, I look around at other chariots, one catches my eye. The district has a young boy. One of the twelve year olds. I think, and start to feel sorry. Now, I realize he looks exactly like my little brother, Jacob. My heart sinks, and my smile starts to fade as I look at him.

As our chariot rolls out, I remember that Kristina told me to look shy. I put my head down slightly, smile sweetly, and wave. I glance over at Luke and see he has his head up high, a broad smile on his face, and is waving to everyone.
The crowd begins to go wild over the District 7 tributes, and they are chanting their names. Hey, we need people to like us too; we need sponsers! I nudge Luke and he nods. As I begin to blow kisses to the crowd, Luke looks over in one direction and winks. The citizens in that direction begin to scream and the crowd cheers. Hopefully they like us now....
All of the chariots stop in front of a balcony where President Snow stands. Something about him sends shivers running up and down my spine. I suddenly feel terrified. I grab on to Luke’s arm, and he gives my hand a reassuring pat.
I take a quick look around at the other chariots. I see the girl tribute from 12. Something about her reminds me of my sisters. She glances up at me and I smile.

When the Chariot ride is over, we are escorted to our living spaces for the rest of the time we're here.
"Alright! I'll see you two in the morning!" Cradela chipperly says to us. Magnolia and Berk smile at us. "You two did well" Berk says, looking us up and down. "Thank you" Peter says.
Magnolia and Berk leave and Peter and I walk to our rooms. I enter my quarters and almost fall to the ground. The room is a medium green color with white furniture. A large, four-poster canopy bed sits in the corner of the room with a marble bedside table next to it. A vanity sits on the other side of the room with a wardrobe next to it.
I walk over to a door in a corner of the room and find that it is a bathroom. I look inside and see a shower, a sink, a toilet, and some speaker thing. I drcide to take a shower so I can get all my make up and glitter off.
In the shower, there are at least 50 buttons controling the temperature. The shampoo and conditioner and the body wash and scrub. I decide to use the strawberry scented body wash and lemon scented hair products. I start to giggle at how silly I'm being. I don't really think people will care what type of fruit I smell like.
I finish and step out of the shower, grabbing a towel. I wrap it around myself and step over to the speaker thing. I put my hand on it and a current goes through my body. My hair flies down to my shoulders in a glossy curtain. I gasp, what a great machine!
I step out lf the bathroom and over to my wardrobe. I pick out a thick cotton, light green nightgown and slip it on and shuffle to my bed. The sheets are made of silk but the quilt is cotton and quite warm.
I close my eyes and drift off into a deep sleep.

Luke

“Amazing job!” Prism exclaims as Annika and I step out of the chariot. “Everyone loved you two!” Kristina and Devin nod in agreement. “Now let’s go to the apartments.” Kristina says.
We follow them into an elevator and Prism hits button 8. There are 12 floors, one for each district.
Annika suddenly grabs tightly on to my arm.
“What’s wrong?” I ask. She shuts her eyes.
“Nothing…it’s just my fear of heights.” She squeaks. Finally we reach the eighth floor and she bolts out of the elevator. Our mouths drop open when we look around the room. Everything looks like the train, only ten times more luxurious.
“Wait until you see your quarters!” Prism exclaims.
Devin motions for me to follow him and he leads me to my quarters.

Annika

I follow Kristina to my quarters. When we enter, I gaze at the sight.
The walls are a bluish purple and the floors are carpeted with a soft material, the bed is huge and has a ton of pillows on it, and matching furniture is throughout the room.
“Take a quick shower, and then we will have some food.” Kristina says, leaving.
The shower is very confusing; it has thousands of options for shampoo, conditioner, and soaps. I finally figure it out and pick a florally smelling shampoo and conditioner, and vanilla scented soap. It takes absolutely forever to scrub all the glitter off of me, but I manage to get almost all of it off. I watch it glitter all the way down the drain.
After my shower, I put on some comfortable clothing then hurry to the dining room. I’m starved!
Dinner is delicious, as always, and this time we are served dessert. Devin warns me not to have too many sweets and to concentrate more on eating healthy, but I still have a slice of cake covered in frosting.
“Now, tomorrow training begins bright and early.” Kristina says. “So you should go to your quarters and get some rest."
After we finish off our meal with a cup of mint tea, I head back to my quarters. I change into a soft light pink nightgown and hop in bed. I bundle up in the soft sheets and fall asleep almost instantly.

Area Vale

(Area and Jon must of fallen through a time portal back to the time when they were just entering the stable. I am behind!)

I walk into a stable, and a white chariot with white horses wearing glowing straps stood there waiting to leave. There was light and unique wheels that looked like a race-car driving handle. I jumped onto the carriage. I saw Jon come in, in a blue tux, white jeans, and the same hat as I but with black buttons. My hat had pink buttons.
When it was almost our turn, I saw Sasha run over to us. ''Remember, Area, you look kind, quiet, mysterious, planning, always has something on you're mind. Jon, you are the freeloader who waves and smiles but sneers every once in a while!'' she said. ''I can do that.'' he said with a smile. ''Save it for the parade!'' she said leaving.

Screaming, tears, cries, cheers, filled my ears as it was our turn. We rode out of the stable where possibly millions were. I put on a mysterious smile, and I moved my eyes as if I were ''planning''. Jon put a huge smile on his face the size of a banana. He was lying when he said ''I can do that.''. He looked like a monkey who had just ate an entire cake and was on a sugar rush for more cake.

After the parade, we stepped into the building. Fake roses and glitter sprung to my outfit, and to Jon's too. Those capitol people throw weird, gluey stuff! I stepped onto the elevator, and pressed button 6. I listened to high-pitch capitol music on the way, and when we got there I gasped. Yellow floors, ocean blue walls, white sheets with floral purple prints on the yellow pillows. A fluffy purple carpet, a huge light that was white and shone blue. A window, that had silk purple curtains on it. A bright blue shower.

I stepped into the shower after I took my clothing off. Let's see, I thought as I examined the buttons. I chose: Banana wash for my legs, orange for my body, daisy wash for my arms, and lavender for my hair. I got used to the lovely shower and was sad to leave.
I got dressed in a lovely bright blue silk night gown that was yellow underneath and thin. It had puffy sleeves. I saw a sleeping mask, it was purple with blue fringe. I put it on, and I jumped into the silky blankets, and I fell asleep. I was too stuffed to eat any dinner, a cup of lavender tea was all I needed.

Topaz

I wake up at sunrise, the black digital clock buzzing off in a raspy, screeching voice. The sunset was oh-so wonderful! The sky was the color of orange drinks my father serves at his place, and sun the bright color of an amber gem! I change into a deep onyx-black shirt with fine emeralds on the V neck. I also have blue fluorite-colored shorts down to above my knee pads, with ripped ends and a range of blue gemstones, including sapphires, blue indicolite tourmalines, and aquamarines. I slip on a pair of brown cowboy boots, with gold laces on the tops. I sit down in the office chair near my desk and take out a blue music box, with gems on edges. Black liquid liner traces the box. I twist the gold key on the back and slowly the music box opens, playing a soft, sweet song. (In real it would be an instrumental version of Stay.) Suddenly, Onyx bangs and rattles on my door. "Hey To! Open the door, we're finally at the Capitol!" Onyx screeches through the hole. I jump out of my office and push onto the music box, slamming it shut and opening the door, hand in pocket. I let go of the box as soon as she walks in. Hideous. Her wig is dyed grassy green, with short curls up to her neck. Blue highlights spill on a side. Her eyes are a fire hot pink, with long, black liquid liner to the edge of her head. The mascara was electric blue, She wore gold lipstick, and I didn't know what in the world she was wearing, only a cruddy clown suit and sock-like shoes. I stuck to my bed and tried to keep from screaming for Flint. "Well, aren't you coming out?" she asks. I make my eyes half and storm out my room. I stop as I look through the window. Tons of people. Millions. After we eat honey wheat bread for breakfast, we head down out of the compartment. The camera light and spotlight blinds my eyes. Strangers scream for my autograph and I quickly write in best writing, and finally run off, with Flint pushing everyone away. "Hurry!" I exclaim to Flint, but the voices drown my own. We scurry down until we finally get to the prep room. There I sit. Finally my prep team comes, consisted of two male and two female. Ruby plucks my eyebrows. Silver shapes my eyebrows and fixes my hair, making it straight. Marble bathes me in a sweet smelling, hot bubble bath and makes a face mask. Add the cucumbers. Copper rips extra hair from my skin and polishes my nails on all four. "Your stylist will be here soon," Silver insists, happily skipping off with the prep team. I wait, until two stylists come search for me and Flint. Their names were Calico and Emerald. I walk with Emerald to my dressing room. Emerald is a tan, brunette girl with a handmade dress more exquisite than our own clothes. Her nails are polished in sparkling gold and aqua. Black lining designs nail art on the polish. "So, we decided that we would change it up a little. You guys will rock in the outfits!" I am brought by Emerald to a closet, and she reveals a posh outfit. "It's perfect, Em!" I squeal. The outfit is a delicate gown, all laced and encrusted with gemstones. The gown is dyed a deep red, much like dad's signature drink. Between the waist and hip is a sash made out of fine gold. There are feathery short sleeves, and a range of gemstones appears on the tips of the gown and sleeve. On the outside of the sash are thin lines of fur. A sweet smell drifts through the air, leading to a case of perfume. Along it is one necklace and a ruby ring, while below the hanger is a shoe box with a pair of gold high heels, open toe. I slip on the heels, accesories, and gown, while Emerald glues on one emerald in the neck center. I take out my music box as Emerald styles my hair into bright, blond curls that cover my ears. Pink streaks lay on the sides and back. She sprays the perfume on. I look into the mirror, and I didn't know who I am.

Flint

In my dressing room, I fit the suit on. It is elegant and handsome, with the black suit, and ruby bow tie. It reminds me of the drink Topaz' dad specializes in. I have a pair of brownish-blackish cowboy boots trimmed with gold. Gems tip my pockets. Fur lines my sleeves and silver pants. I have a gold belt with a copper buckle. Calico sprits a spray on my neck and outfit. I head out with Topaz, holding hands. We jump into our carraige, a gold carraige with blue and pink seats. So we sit down, and I slowly think about sponsors. They should be on to something! The crowd slowly moves on to our chariot and cheers for the sight of us. I greatly wink and smile at the crowd and Topaz waves her arm, throws back her hair. I hear the chestnut pony skid to a stop after they trot around the pit. On a high, red velvet carpet, and pure gold throne is President Snow. He stands up, arms up, but head straight ahead, reminding me of some boy from a show. "Welcome our 24 tributes! May the odds be ever in your favor!" Our chestnut pony picks up her hooves as she trots back and forth. Topaz feels a cold current down her spine to the edge of her bones. I suddenly feel the urge to wait for the training center, while I also place my arm around Topaz and pat her. Relation will help me, I though, as we hop off the carraige. I'm wondering about Snow, how much he and the Gamemakers will trouble poor districts. Trouble the wealthy districts Snow! They'll starve anyway of food or thirst, maybe even blown to death by us.

I step into the shower, warm water rains down on me, washing off the makeup, and I scrub off they hairspray. I stick to more floral scents, violet and lavender. When I finsh, I am instantly dried. I wlak over to my bed, and am surprised to find a pair of pajamas on the bed. On top of them is a note.

Dear Ava,

I know how you are not used to the capitol's clothing, so Imade you your own pair of pajamas.

Hornado

The pajamas are a pair of plaid, fizzy pajama pants, and a gray tank top. I slip them on and feel like I do back at home, they feel like home. I braid my silky hair, and walk into the dining room where I eat a dinner of feta cheese stuffed duck, pasta, salad, and for desert, lemon bars. The food was delicous, and soon feel full. We talk all about the parade, and what we are going to do tomorrow, and soon, I head for bed. Soon, sleep carries me away.

Prism wakes me up bright and early. A surge of nervousness rushes through me when I remember today is training. She gives me a training uniform with a number 8 on the back. After putting it on and braiding my hair, I head to the dining room for breakfast. Luke is already there, and he is wearing an outfit matching mine. I take my seat beside him.
“Are you nervous?” Luke asks.
“Yes.” I say. “What about you?”
“A little.” He answers.
“No talking! Eat!” Prism exclaims. “You can’t be late for training!”
Kristina and Devin give us a few instructions as we hurriedly finish eating. We are not supposed to spend too much time in the areas we are already skilled in, but more in the areas we aren’t. We are supposed to hold back on showing off our skills, but not look too weak. And most importantly, we have to make allies.
“Be careful when making allies, though. Some might try to trick you into trusting them.” Devin warns. “Look for one you know for sure you can trust.”
After hurrying back to my quarters and brushing my teeth, Luke and I step into the elevator. Some other tributes are in the elevator already. I keep my head down, but Luke gives them a friendly nod.
I close my eyes, trying not to think about how high up we are. The elevator goes down until we reach the training center. When the doors open, I hurry out and look around the training center. It is absolutely huge! There are so many different kinds of stations; I have no idea where to go!
I notice some of the other tributes gathering around the head trainer. She must be getting ready to tell us the training schedule and all the rules. I join them and wait for all the other tributes to gather around.

Blight wakes me up, and gives me my training uniform, then tells m to meet them in the dining room for a quick breakfast. I put on the uniform, an walk to the dining room. I see ava, she wears the same unifrom as me. I sit down beside her, and we eat breakfast quickly. Soon, we are rushed out of our room, and into an elevator where we go down to the training room. As I enter, I see many tributes. We join them as they stand infront o f the lead trainer.

The head trainer explains what each station is and tells us a few important rules. We are also told that we are not allowed to fight with any of the other tributes. If we want to practice, a specialist will help us.
Everyone disperses once she is finished talking. Luke and I head to a station specifically for learning about plants. There are so many important plants to remember, I feel overwhelmed!
“I have a feeling we are going to be at this station for a while.” I sigh. Luke nods in agreement.

I walk over to the Edible Plants station and sit on the floor. I am the only person here currently so the trainer focuses on me. "What's this?" I ask, pointing to a brightly colored flower. "That's a candy rose, don't worry. They're not poisonous" the trainer says, nodding.
