What kind of things does GIMP and Pixlr do? Does either one let me make transparent backgrounds? Because I know I could do a lot more badges with something like that, and I wouldn't have to be so choosy with finding pictures to use - that's the part that takes me the longest.

Yes, there are ways to give a picture a transparent background using GIMP and Pixlr. I do that all the time when making my graphics, it's really useful. GIMP has more features you can use, but Pixlr is really simple and easy to figure out.
There are some great tutorials for both in the Paint by Numbers subforum, if you want to check that out. ___________________ |

Thank You, I'll look into them.
I now have an odd question that would be considered off-topic, but since this is my thread and I'm asking, it's okay I was wondering if anyone knows how to put a download button on their website? What do I mean? You see I want to offer a story up on my website so people can read it for free, by clicking on the button and POOF the novel gets downloaded to their computer. But I don't know if it's possible and what I can trust. I tried asking this on another forum for writers, but no one has replied and I have no idea where to get trust-worthy information. I figured since we're talking about programs why not ask here? To go back to the topic, I'm planning my next Badge Chronicles for Fall, I'll see if I can post it by Friday at the latest. |
