People don't like this franchise? First I've heard of this. Most I know or opinions I've read praise it. If it wasn't so prominent I doubt Disney would've kept it around for almost 10 years. And it's been added to the Disney Infinity game so it has prominence at Disney.

Most people find it childish, and I guess, in a way, it is. But I still enjoy it.

Makes it no different than any other animated film Disney has made. It's fit for all ages, child or adult. These films really are a spectacle, in my eyes. From its great cast of characters, to well established world and lore, it's much more than just a child's film to be disregarded.

I agree FairiesFan! I have a brother who usually doesn't like girly shows, and he actually likes the Tinkerbell movies. He may not be a total fan, but he thinks they are good.
A few years back I was at the comic shop buying some Disney Fairies graphic novels and the shop owner pointed out the volume about "The Great Fairy Rescue", I kindly replied with "That one is based on the movie" (because I was more interested in newer stories that I haven't read or seen) and he said: "There's a Tinkerbell movie!?" "Yes, there are three Tinkerbell movies", I said. He was surprised and told me that if he had known about them he would've like to have seen them. So Disney really should give the Tinkerbell movies a bigger chance in promoting and putting them in North American theaters. I'm still a little bitter about not being able to see "The Pirate Fairy" in theaters. |

That's awesome to hear, Saphira! It's weird, since the Fairies franchise is the first Disney thing I've loved. And being a male, it really speaks volumes how wide of an appeal this franchise can have. I love the Fairies because, like I said, it's got a great world, lore, and awesome characters. It's much more than just a thing for little kids, IMO. I love things with big mythologies and that feel like other places that are actually real. Pixie Hollow feels like such a place.

Well, I'm pleasantly surprised a guy at a comic shop wants to watch the Disney Fairies movies. I still think the movies wouldn't do well in theaters. There are some things wrong with the movies a lot of people might notice. :/ I've noticed some of them.

Slipping this in here:
If you buy both Big Hero 6 and Legend of the NeverBeast, you can get a four-piece lithograph set. It works whether you buy it in their physical forms (must be with the Digital Copy, it looks like, so you would need the Blu Ray Combo Pack which DOES come with a standard DVD form) or through Disney Movies Anywhere to get their digital forms which can sync with iTunes, the Google Store, or VUDU. Just throwing this out there since I was already planning on getting both movies in Blu-Ray. Also, the lithograps look really pretty for Legend: |

Ooh, I think I like the lithograph with Fawn flying though the Animal meadow.
Hey Alexa, if you're talking about the inconsistencies in the movies, like the Frost fairies being in the warm meadows in the first movie, I really don't think that would be a big deal. Most movies, no matter how popular they are, have something 'wrong' with them. A YouTube channel does these little shows called "Everything Wrong With (enter title here)" and points out all sorts of things people may not notice. Take "The Avengers" for example (since I know you're such a fan): "secret military research facility on a brightly lit mesa", for everyone to see, including planes flying over. Now, wut? Tinkerbell is a very popular character among all ages and genders, whether some will admit it or not. I don't think a few strange oddities and inconsistencies would make the movies disliked so much that they would get a poor viewing audience. They are really fun and entertaining - and that is what a movie's ultimate goal is. Last edited by Sapphira110; 02-12-2015 at 03:15 PM. Reason: Wut, what, wot? |

I preordered the Blu-ray from the Disney Store for the 4 Fairies lithographs! But still going up at midnight to get the film on Blu-ray!
And I don't think it's fair to say they wouldn't do well without one actually being put to the test in theaters. Again, Neverbeast has made an impressive 6+ million overseas alone in very limited distribution. Imagine if it were to get the WDAS treatment, it could easily be a success. The budgets are only 30-35 million, and I can EASILY see one of the films making 50+ million! which wouldn't be no Frozen, but still a success in itself. And add home media sales, it'd only add profit. I don't see why audiences would hate these films. DVD sales show otherwise, as does general reactions. Critics praise these movies (a lot of US reviewers gave the film positive ratings), and IMDb ratings are 6.8 or higher, which shows these are not bad films that audiences are despising. |

Sapphira, I'm actually not just talking about the inconsistencies (although those are a part of it). A lot of movies don't get good ratings for many problems besides inconsistencies, like character development to name one. And I have seen those YouTube videos before. I find them, sometimes, a little desperate and most of the "problems" in the movies they review have simple (sometimes) explanations for them.

Aside from what you have mentioned, what's wrong with the Tinkerbell movies?
In my opinion, there is plenty of character development: In the first movie, Tinkerbell struggles to find her place in Pixie Hollow; to the point that she wants to switch her talent. In the end she learns that her talent is as important as any other. In "Lost Treasure", Tinkerbell's and Terrence's friendship grows. In "Great Fairy Rescue", Vidia goes through a lot of different emotions, like guilt and regret and her mean attitude gets a sunnier disposition; and the other fairies get to prove their talents in unique situations. In "Secret of the Wings, we learn a different side to Queen Clarion and that Tinkerbell has a sister. In "The Pirate Fairy", the fairies have to face a band of pirates and must learn to use a talent that is not their own; showing that some of them are good at adapting to difficult situations while others not so much. In "Legend of the Neverbeast", Fawn's character is explored and tested. The music is good for all of them, some giving me shivers of joy; the art is beautiful and magical; and the lore continues to expand. My only pet peeve is that my favorite character, Silvermist, doesn't get a lot of story time. Now if Disney would only do a movie for her, I would be satisfied. |

I didn't mean to sound like I think there's no character development in the movies. I was just mentioning that. I haven't watched the movies in a while, so can't give my review on them or anything, but I agree with all that you said, Sapphira.

More new clips!
Popcorn posted Nyx's reaction to the meeting with Queen Clarion here... Quote:
Also, I found another cute little clip called "Gruff Love". I love the glowing dandelion fluff! It looks so magical. Just a couple weeks until Legend comes out! I'm so excited. Hope you guys enjoy the clips!

Those were great clips, Night, thanks! Although, I felt like the second clip gave away too much of them movie. It pretty obvious Nyx learns to accept Gruff, after seeing her bow to him. I don't think they should've included that part. They should have left it out. :/

I would also really love to see a movie featuring my favorite character, Silvermist. Perhaps we can hope that the franchise continues at some point and Sil will be next on the list. You really never know with Disney and movies -- they bring all their movies out of the vault as some point and are constantly thinking of new storylines. Just because there are no current plans for another Disney Fairies movie doesn't mean the franchise is gone. ~ Em
