Raichi Tinker Time :)
I'm hoping this can stay. It may not have any direct link to pixy hollow, but it certainly is tinkering which our lovely tinkerbell enjoys so much
I'm going to make a scratching post for my cat, using some old but also freshly bought supplies. And I want to share my progress with you guys. This is the idea: The base board (on the ground) has already been sawed from the wood (I let my dad do that sawing since I'm clumsy and don't want to lose my fingers by accident haha) I can show you guys some pictures of my progress if you like? |

YAY! Okay here it goes!
This is the base board for on the floor: It's 2cm thick, heavy to lift (for me at least, my wrists can barely handle a frying pan) and smells of oak... so I think it's oak.. Don't mind the circles drawn with pencils, that's about the area the scratching poles will come, but I haven't determined the exact location yet, when I do that I use black marker. These will be the seats, the small one is literally a seat, since it's not big enough for her to lay on entirely. It was initially just a way to make it easier for her to manoeuvre up and down the longer post. She's a senior cat, so her body isn't like it used to be. This is the tallest pole. It's actually a PVC pipe, I pasted jute cloth on it with glue for wallpapers. (the powder and the water and mixing) I'm going to cover it with sisal rope like usual scratching posts. The jute cloth is to keep the sisal-rope in place and makes it easier to replace once she wears it out. I left 2cm on the bottom so I can place it into the base board. This is how far I got with the sewing part so far. I chose fuax leather because that's my cats all-time favourite thing to lie on. (that and paper, but paper isn't very classy haha) I placed the heart out on my bed and she's lying on it as I type this. I also have furniture foam for the most top seat. I am not sure if I want to use furniture foam for the middle seat yet, but the base board is definitely going without. Dad is going to saw out the hearts for me today I'm planning on working on it more in the weekend! |
