Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg:Book Review
Hello everyone! I just finished the book "Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg." It is my second time reading it and I really understood it better. I really like the detail Gail Carson Levine gives. I really like the character of Prilla where she doesn't know her talent but in the end she does. I also like how Gail isn't afraid to write some things. Like she made some fairies die and a fox almost eat Mother Dove. But, there's one thing I really don't like...
I've never really liked Tinker Bell, and I felt more like that after reading it again. Mother Dove tells her to tell stories about herself becuase Mother Dove is dying. While Tinker Bell tells her feelings about Peter Pan she says ''I would have believed him that I was was his best friend, but then he brought Wendy in and that changed EVERYTHING.'' Then i'm thinking ''jealous!!!'' I also don't like how everyone is mean to Prilla in the beginning (mostly Tink). I suggest highly that you should read it. I enjoyed it very much |

Oh my goodness! I also finished reading it too! In my opinion, I LOVED the book. I read the book so quickly because I enjoyed it so much. I agree with you that it was very mean for the fairies in the beginning of the story to dislike Prilla, I think Prilla is sweet! I hope to get the sequel to it shortly, I am eager to read it.

"Fairy Haven and the Quest for the Wand" is a very good book. Some party I think the author was too slow on but, I still really enjoyed it. Last edited by RosesOfScarlet; 11-19-2012 at 06:23 PM. |

I loved this book and enjoy the other works by the same author, she's a very good writer. My favorite parts were reading about Prilla's arrival and her very unique perspective on things. She's almost like a clumsy becoming a fairy, which allowed me to feel like I was "born" among the fairies in a second life.

I've always had a love/hate relationship with Tinker Bell, because in the story of Peter Pan and Wendy, she tried to have Wendy killed by telling the Lost Boys to shoot her from the sky. I think it has always been apparent that Tinker Bell suffers from bouts of jealousy in the story; but the author tried to make us not think too ill of her since, according to him, Fairies are quite small and can only hold one single emotion in them at a time.
Since the movies have come out, I've grown more fonder of Tinker Bell. I've yet to read the third book, gotta check that one out... |

The third book is okay, it gets very exciting at the middle/ending. The plot of it is good! |

I really liked all three of these books. Like many of you, my favorite fairy in Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg was Prilla, she's so sweet and quirky. I think Quest for the Egg was my favorite of the three.
Quest for the Wand was the least exciting of the series, at least for me. Still a good book though. |

I got this book when I was younger, read it, and loved it! Then I read some other books by Gail Carson Levine and thought they were great. It took me a while to make the connection that Gail Carson Levine wrote the fairy book though. When I realized that, I was fangirling for a little while but do have to say that Tink is really annoying. In, general, I have a thing against the main characters of books, movies, etc. with very few exceptions. I was meaning to read other pixie hollow related books but never got around to it.
