Photo Opener for Windows XP?
Heya, everyone! I recently had Windows XP installed on my computer.
When I opened a picture, it comes up in GIMP. Is there another thing that I could download to open photos with? Thanks! ~Cat |

Try right-clicking on an image file and going to Open With > Choose default program... This should show you a list of the different image-viewing programs that you have installed; look for "Windows Photo Viewer". If it is not in the list, then there may be a bit of a problem.

Well, like Alexi has already mentioned try to find what default programs you already have installed with XP. As I'm very sure there are quite a few free image-viewing programs out there, this is also one of the ones I use: IrFanView
IrfanView is a very fast, small, compact and innovative FREEWARE (for non-commercial use) graphic viewer for Windows 9x, ME, NT, 2000, XP, 2003 , 2008, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8. Also just wanted to add that this image viewer ( IrFanView ) can also be used by Linux Users ~Lily Last edited by McKenzieO1; 12-22-2012 at 03:50 PM. Reason: added to post |

Right click on the image then select open-with option it will shows all the programs which can open that image then select any program you want. By default there is a program that is image viewer. If you want to try new program then PICASA s/w will be helpful it gives image modification option too.
