Okay, so let's just say I'm feeling a little silly making a thread for this, but...I'm just feeling kinda nervous and thought I might as well see if you guys had anything to say that could make me feel more...confident . Heh

Ya see, thing is, my brother's getting married tomorrow. It's the first time any of my siblings have ever done this sort of thing before (he's the oldest) aaaaand it kind of means a lot of big changes. For one thing, he won't be living with us anymore, for another, it means I get my own room...all to myself. Feels weird. I've never had my own room before in my life.

I'll be singing two songs tomorrow at the wedding, and I've worked really hard to memorize them completely. Still, I'm scared I might...uh, I dunno, forget a verse or screw something up. I really don't want to screw anything up; I want it to be just perfect for him and his girl in every way possible. Sometimes, I find myself shaking from nerves!

So yeah, the thing happens later tomorrow at seven or so. I don't know why I'm sharing all this, I guess I just feel like I'd appreciate some support in this rather big moment of my life.

Aw, you're be okay. When my brother got married, there was a certain 'rule' the mother-in-law planned in how a particular event was to happen in the wedding ceremony. Well, I sort of messed up and went in the opposite direction I was supposed to go. I felt a little bad, but no one actually said anything about it; so in the end it was no big deal.

I'm sure that even if you make a mistake, it won't be too much of a problem. (Obviously, I don't know your family or their values, so I can't say for sure, but I still think everything will be okay whatever happens.)

well some years ago i use to help a friend out that does wedding planing and i've learned 1 thing about wedding not one is ever prefect stuff always gose bad and as long as you put your love and heart into the songs even if you mess up a little or a lot i'm sure he will just be happy you did try your best and as for the whole room by yourself thing try finding a pic of him and put it in a frame near you bed so if you wake up it's right there and you know he is in your heart always, it's something a friend of mine did when her sister moved out and she got the room all to herself for the first time too. She said it really helped her get use to the idea of sleeping alone.

It's true, they say weddings never go perfectly to plan, so just smile and try to help out as much as you can! I'm sure your songs will be beautiful, and although it will be different having your bro out of the house, I'll bet the single room will be AH-MA-ZING (this is coming from an only child who has always had her own space!)

Going along with everyone else said, everyone will love it, regardless of how good of a job you did! I used to do piano performances and I would get so nervous to the point I would go home with a huge migraine. Sometimes I did mess up, and after I was finished with my song I always asked my parents if they had noticed my mistake. They looked at me incredulously and replied, "You made a mistake?!" Some stuff I learned is 1) nobody except you recognizes the mistakes and 2) even if someone did, you will probably get an even louder round of applause. Try practicing your songs a couple times before you go, but don't get too nervous. Let yourself enjoy the wedding!

As for getting your own room, you will love it. I have my own room and it's amazing! I adore having my own room, and would be devastated if I had to give it up.

Aw, don't be nervous! I've been in PLENTY of wedding myself and I always feel nervous but it goes away, and you will definitely feel better once your done singing. The hynms you are singing sound beautiful! I love "Come Thou Fount"! Although I don't think I've heard "For the Beauty of the Earth". And like Night Wish said, change is part of life and it can be good (although some people just can't handle change. Take Anakin Skywalker for instance. He hated change). I know you are going to do great, even though I don't know you personally. And don't worry, I'm sure this will be a piece of cake.

I'm glad the wedding went well, Fiffig! Sorry I couldn't post on hear earlier before the wedding (I mean I did but the mods didn't approve of it). And don't worry about starting in the wrong key in that one songs (by the way, I love Come Thou Fount). That happened to me once when I was auditioning for a musical. The cake sounds amazing! My mouth is drooling! Tell you brother that I said congrats!
