It would be a dream come true if PH reopened, but I'm not letting myself hope for that right now. Believing in rumors and possible dates would only crush me further if they were proven false. So at this point, I just reminisce with Disney's meager fairy games and check around periodically for any new content... I have those bajillion screenshots of the good old days too, maybe I'll look at those now.
But this thread makes me happy, because we all haven't forgotten PH, and we haven't given up completely yet!! ...And I don't know about everyone else, but I'm still acutely furious with Disney. |

I hate to says this but you look at all the games they took away it seems to me they were just promotional games, CP wasn't trying to promote anything so when i start thinking about it Pixie Hollow may have just been a promotional game so once it was well no longer needed to promote anything they took it away along with all the other promotional games on there so is a good chance Pixie Hollow will never come back because well the Tinker Bell movies no longer need anything to promote it.

Autumn, that theory sounds very... correct. It seems like something Disney would do. You have nice observational/deductive skills for coming up with this. Too bad CP is nowhere near as fun as the promotional PH.

I hadn't thought of that. That is true though, possibly. Because when VMK closed that was the excuse they went with...'it was only ever meant to be a promotion for the park'. :/

well it's in truth hard to say but since we don't know and they won't tell us all the truth it may never come back or maybe they will make a game like for the PS3 or 4 or whatever system they have now or the Wii or even xbox i mean people can link of in them games on those systems and play together so maybe they will bring it back but like that.

That's probably not bring it back, but create a new type of game. Also, I don't sure that they will make Pixie Hollow in mobile apps.

Your theory makes a lot of sense, Autumn. I'm sure that did have something to do with it now that I think about it.
But the fact of the matter is guys... they removed all those games because Disney simply was not making any money. I know that sounds crazy but it's true. They had too many non-paying members. They were losing money, actually. I have posted links to the Corporate website a few times on the forum already and if you read what was discussed at the previous quarter meeting, they said exactly that. ~Infinity Mistyvalley |

So with that all said why didn't do just and charge us all on a new Hollow (which they still might do) because on the last Hollow 2 thirds of people were free members in 2012 and 13 before that it was the old Hollow I remember and everything was fine. Well, Amber, "Disney" actually is a pretty broad name. You have your movie-making Disney area, which in turn is divided into smaller companies, like Walt Disney Animation Studios (that made Frozen, Wreck-it Ralph, and Tangled) and DisneyToon Studios (that once made all the direct-to-DVD sequels, but now makes the Disney Fairies movies as well as the Planes series). You also have your marketing branch of Disney, which has tons of tiny, little branches that extend into specific marketing pieces like commercials, toys, licensing, and so on. Then, you have all the Disney Parks stuff, which deals with everything from planning new attractions to being Cast Members that help out the characters in the various parks all over the world. And of course, we have Disney Interactive, which has it's own departments for Club Penguin (including offices not only in the US, but in other countries like England), their mobile app division, their website division (where they help create and maintain the websites that Disney uses, like Disney.com, Babble, the Disney Store website, etc.), and I'm sure they have plenty of other mini-divisions as well.
Do you see what I'm trying to get at here? The word "Disney" encompasses a lot of things, a lot of departments, and a lot of specialities. Each department is generally headed by one, maybe two people (but you probably already know this, and I'm moving away from the point!) You see... the individual departments generally don't interact with one another. Disney animators generally don't talk with people designing toys for the Disney Store (the Animators Collection being an exception). It's really no one's fault, it just happens. Each department is pretty much left to it's own devices. So the reason why Pixie Hollow closed is not because Disney itself didn't have enough money to keep it open. The reason it closed was because Disney INTERACTIVE didn't have enough money to keep it open. Disney Interactive has actually been losing money for years (according to an article I read, it's been losing money since the Hollow opened), and has been trying to counteract losses by squeezing every penny out of us. Which still didn't help them earn a profit--or break even. Did anyone else see the financial reports released in June 2013? They talked about the profits earned by each section of the Disney Company and it's affiliates. Disney Interactive was the only one with a negative amount. Of course, you might be thinking, well, why doesn't the other parts of Disney pitch in to help them out? This isn't an easy question to answer, since I don't know Disney's mentality. From what I'm thinking, though, it simply isn't done that way. You win some, you lose some. You lose a lot more than some, you make sacrifices to lighten the load. It seems selfish, yes, and mean for the kids who love the things that become discontinued. But it's business, unfortunately. Currently, Disney Interactive is carrying out a plan to "lighten the load" and to finally get above the "breaking even" point. According to an article I read (http://m.deadline.com/2014/02/disney...offs-200-jobs/), Disney Interactive is laying off 200 people from their jobs. Yes, they are above the profit line from selling millions of (expensive) copies of Disney INFINITY, but despite this, they still want to stick to their plan of moving forward in the name of profit. They shut down three out of four of their MMOs in an attempt to stop spending money on updates. They went from a two-person leadership to a one-person leadership. And they're still trying to push ahead. So, yeah. Rant mode powering down. But I wouldn't expect anything big and new out of Disney Interactive in the next few months, or at least until they can finish with their plan and decide what their next move will be. |

Same here. I wouldn't mind. I have 7 used PH cards I used the last card on the last day before PH would let everyone have free membership.
