Cool! Might get it if I get a Steam account. But, anyone else see the resemblance between the picture and the original Tinker Bell DS game?

Yes! I was thinking the same thing in the back of my head Popcorn- the background, of Tink's house, on the first picture looks nearly identical to the one from the DS game!

I totally saw the resemblance. I actually thought it was the DS game at first.

I don't know if many of you have used steam before or not. It takes older PC games and makes it so you can play them on any of today's window and mac operating systems. So this isn't a new game, but an older game now rereleased and you'll be able to play it on any new PC. Steam does get some new games just released but the bulk of their games are old. It does allow for us to play some iconic old games that we used to play in the day, over again.
If you haven't used Steam before, you should look more into this before buying. http://store.steampowered.com/ You can download steam for free on your computer. There are occasionally a free game they give away, some computers these days come with a free steam game, or you can buy a game off of them. Once you have a game for your account, you open the steam launcher and go to my games. It'll display an image of all the games you have access too. You'll need to install the games before you can play them. This may vary depending on the size of the game and your download speed at home. I've downloaded some rather larger games but I have a fast download speed and it took roughly a day to download them. Once that's done, just click on the icon, agree to the terms of service...standard legal stuff, and the game will launch. Some may need an upload before it'll finally play, but that depends on the game. You should be able to play any game that was created from DOS to Win8.1 using the steam launcher. So don't worry so about your operating system. Great thing about steam is that it'll save your game's progress in it's cloud. So you never loose where you were in the game, even if it gets deleted from your computer. Just reinstall steam, redownload the game, and it'll update the game from the cloud to keep your game's progress. You can also play your games from any of your computers. Each will need both install on them, but the cloud saves the game progress to carry over from computer to computer. You can download steam at http://store.steampowered.com/about/ System Min Requirements Windows XP, Vista, or 7 512 MB RAM 1 Ghz or faster processor Intel Mac, OS X version Snow Leopard 10.6.3, or later. Two-button mouse strongly recommended 1GB HD space (recommended) Internet connection (broadband recommended) Last edited by Batleth; 10-10-2014 at 12:10 PM. |

Game Questions
This looks cool! Has anyone played it? What's the game like? The website's description seems a little vague...basically you fly around and collect things, as any of the main fairy characters, or is there more to it than that?

Play as Tinker Bell & friends!
Fans will be able to enter a world inhabited by these magical characters and discover the secrets of Pixie Hollow, while ushering in the seasons in the Spring Valley, Summer Glades, Autumn Forest and Winter Woods. Filled with ritual and ceremony, and sparked by fun and a whole lot of magic and Pixie attitude - players can explore the land of the Disney Fairies. Play as Tinker Bell, Iridessa, Silvermist, Fawn and Rosetta as you take on this exciting adventure. Each come with their fairy talent such as Tinkering, Light, Water, Animal and Garden . On this special journey, players will encounter and interact with other fairies, sparrow men and magical creatures that all reside in Never Land, whilst collecting hidden treasures and sparkling objects to save throughout the game. So as someone who as played the original DS Tinker Bell game, I can vouch that (according to Batleth's new pictures and description) that this Steam game is both different and alike to the DS game. Don 't get me wrong, some elements of the game feel quite similar (backgrounds, arrow design, goal to bring the seasons to the mainland, ability to tinker/fix some items)...but playing as each of Tink's friends? Lighting fireflies? Fixing light baskets? There are some new elements that definitely look interesting!
Now to do more research on Steam... I also thought it was funny that some of the games they have on sale (Tangled, Brave, Disney Universe) I have their original console version. You know this game reminds me of both Pixie Hollow and the first Tinkerbell DS game (which I need to go on because the Masquerade Ball is going to happen soon. I think. Off-topic: By the way, did any of you have any problems with the Tinkerbell DS game, like the time of day being different in the game than the times of day in the real world. Example: It's night-time in the game but day-time in real. That happens to me all the time). PH because you can fly around and collect things (like ingredients). Tinkerbell DS, because of the graphics and design of the game. I think I might enjoy this game.

Thank you for the insight on Steam, Bat, I didn't know it worked that way.
If anybody would like a preview of the game, there are videos on YouTube of the first 4 chapters (which are quite short, around 10 minutes each). Those who have played the DS games will see the resemblance; surprisingly one of the first similarities that came to my mind was the music. But like Popcorn mentioned, most of the mini-games look completely new. There are new accessories (among other things I'm sure), and you get to control more than one Famous Fairy. What I'm worried about most is how many hours of gameplay does this game provide. The first Tinker Bell DS game never really finishes, as you are continuously helping to bring the new season. I hope that this game has the same feature, but judging by the preview that I've seen, it looks like there is an end to the chapters. I think I'll just stick to the original DS game, but I have to stay, the graphics in this game are beautiful. If the game was a bit more challenging, I would consider purchasing it. Pixie Hollow Online had some challenging moments, so I've been hoping to stumble upon at least one Disney Fairies game that was at a similar level. I know this franchise is mainly targeted at younger children, but there are some of us out there who would love some high scores to beat, or more difficult achievements to earn. You'll have to find the time settings in your DS, Alexa. I don't actually own a Nintendo DS, so I can't tell you exactly how to do that, but if you set the time and date correctly, the game will work properly. You can even "time travel" to check those yearly events if you wish.

This game looks quite nice, and like everyone mentioned, it looks like the DS game a little bit. I can't wait till I can buy it and check it out for myself. Steam is awesome, I also kind of want to get the Toy Story game. I must check out those playthroughs, Onionleaf!
