Raven's Mini Photoshop Tute!
Hi all!
I got a request from Faith Littlebee to put up a little Photoshop Tutorial regarding my artwork. I did most of my artwork via Illustrator because of its vector format, and did the rest of the text, effects and formatting in Photoshop! Vector art gives it a sharp , defined look for your work no matter what size you blew it up or shrink it, but Photoshop will only pixelize and blur any artwork's condition no matter what size. So yes, I'm sure most of you already have Photoshop, here's a simple tutorial (tute) on using the pen tool, just like in Illustrator, especially for those who are not so familiar or new with the program: 1. Open the application and familiarize yourself with the tools. We will be using the ones selected above. Move Tool is simply a default tool used to move objects around the canvas. 2. To create a new file go to File > New and this window will pop up. Follow the visual for instructions. 300 ppi is often used for high resolution printing, and 72 is simply for web postings. 3.The Zoom Tool is great to check for details or overall view or your artwork! 4.Select pen tool and create. 5.Close the points to complete it! 6.When a layer is selected, that means it's available and ready to be worked on. 7.That's right, click it. LISTEN TO ME 8.This is the digital version of an artist's colour palette! 9......Don't ask me what shape this is -_- 10. Use the Direction Selection tool to modify some more. Or maybe you want your fairy face to be chubby xD Okay done! I hope you guys like it, or at least understand it. It helps to experiment and practice a whole lot. I will post again for the next chapter called... Gradient Time! |
