Sapphira's Art Nook
I wanted to share my little art projects here:
I loved the silly sweets that were Alice in Wonderland themed that Pixie Hollow had out during their Garden Tea event and was inspired to make these two necklace charms from polymer clay. I really like how the bottle came out, though the cake is kind of blah... This bunny is named Chris and he's from an anime called "Lilpri" Or "Little Princesses". I'm pretty happy in how he turned out. I made my Ever After High doll Bunny Blanc a new dress (as well as the placemat she's sitting on). Although she now looks more like Alice than the White Rabbit... I drew these pictures after I got to see the planet Saturn in the night sky (on the dates present.) I wanted to post this somewhere... I had a hard time getting the ring(s) right, and I still messed it up. The first night it looked like I was seeing Saturn's north pole, but the next night it looked like I was viewing its south pole. I still don't know. Anyway, for the drawing I did it on white paper, then inverted the colors; finally I uploaded it onto my website in order to give it that blurry look, since that's what I saw through the telescope. I'm pretty proud of how Foxglove's Tea Garden outfit came out. I was scared about making the teacup hat, since it looked so complicated, but I love it. Although...it sort of looks more like a mug than a delicate cup, but *shrugs* The blouse was the hardest to do, and for some reason the sash wouldn't do what I wanted it to.

Awe, everything is soo cute! How big (or small) are the two charms in size? I like the colors that you chose, they look so much like the originals.
Bunny Blanc's dress made my jaw drop - can you make me a life-size dress that is just as pretty? I've always loved learning about Astronomy and had always wished to look at the planets through a telescope. Perhaps I'll visit the observatory out here in the countryside some day...

The charms are pretty small, but not super small. Both could easily fit atop a USA penny, and a USA quarter would be a nice fairy tray - but only one would fit on it.
I make my own dress-outfits for my Sunday teas, so I probably could make you a dress Although...when it comes to making things for other people I tend to mess it up. For example: I made an Incredible Hulk doll for my sister-in-law (she's a major Marvel fan), but even though I used a pattern he came out really weird; my brother called him 'skinny Hulk'. I tell ya, it's a curse.

Your art is so fun! I love those charms! I'm sure they'd both look awesome on a bracelet and would give you a story to tell about them. I also love the bunny (ok both bunnies).

Thank you, Pixies! I was pleasantly surprised at how well the lace went with the dress' material for Bunny.
I added a new art project for those who wish to have a look.

Wow, that is a beautifully made doll, Sapphira, and looks just like her fairy counterpart! How did you manage to find the perfect fabric that matches the outfit? And is that Tea Green dye, perchance? It was one of my favorite Pixie Hollow dyes, it's just such a cheerful color.

It's actually pretty funny where I got the material: I bought a new tank top at a local department store, but it was too long, so I cut a little bit off of the bottom. Then one day I was sitting in my room and really wanted to do a weekend of crafts, I have so many I want to do but don't. So I thought "What can I make?" I really wanted to make one of my fairies' their tea garden dress. I saw the shirt material I cut off and "Bingo!" It was perfect!
Sadly, I can't recall what dye I used, but I do remember using tea green dye on a lot of my fairies' clothes - especially Foxglove, since she was my tinker and green was her theme color.

It's been awhile since I posted a new art project. Here's one of my more recent ones:
I painted this at an 'Art Cafe' last week and had to wait for it to be thrown into the kiln to get that smooth, glossy look. I picked it up today and it came out better than I feared: I was concerned that the eyes, and face in general, would turn out horrible since the place had terrible paintbrushes to work with; I wonder if the next time I go and I can use my own...

I love all those crafts. Great job! A fairy I know named Linkerbell asked me "Could you sculpt the cake to have sides that are more flat by trimming away material with an Exacto-knife?"

Are you asking a question for your friend? I can't tell. You can certainly trim away the soft clay (before you bake it or let it dry) to sculpt the cake to make it more flat. If it is about my Pixie Hollow-inspired Eat Me cake, I had flat sides, it's just that I tried to put frosting on it and it turned out...meh. I still have a lot to learn I guess.
