Design A Outfit Contest - May 2016
 Remember how fun it was to dress our pixies? Did you ever have a special outfit that you always wished your pixie could wear? For this month's contest we want to see what you can create. So grab a piece of paper and a crayon or maybe you are better with a drawing program and share that design with us! Everyone that submits an outfit will be awarded this amazing shiny!!!  Now here's the fine print: Only post one entry per member, no posting "reserved" (commenting is ok), and the most important... make sure you post your entry before the end of the day on May 31st.

Thanks for the contest. Here's my entry (took around 2.5 hours to finish, and I really like how it looks out):

Sounds awesome! I'm already getting a few design ideas!
 Quick question: Can they resemble outfits/accessories from Pixie Hollow? Like, let's say I want to use one of the hats my fairy had, but add on to it. Would that be alright, or do they have to be completely our own ideas? |

I decided not to upcycle, and instead went with my most favorite shirt/top/jacket in the world: Hoodies!
Hoodie.jpg I also drew a classic Friendship Bracelet -- or did my best to... And in the corner is a pair of recycled Denim jeans. All of these can be made for both Fairies and Sparrow Men, and can each be worn together or separately. |

Love love love these kinds of contests, can't wait to see more ideas taking shape on this thread!
I really like all three entries that were shared so far, I think they would sell as fast as the wind over at Summit Style. I'll start scratching my head and scribbling some sketches this week.

Susan's winter wear
Here's an outfit based on a lady named Susan. It's not original but I wish it had been in Pixie Hollow.
Her floor-length overcoat, on the right, is dark forest green with shiny forest green trim and lining for the hood. Most of the fabric is a little stiff, but the sleeves poof out at the top, and there are two huge pockets on the sides. The buttons are diamond shaped onyx. Her vest, shirt, and shirt are shown on the left. The shirt collar is white, the sleeves and panels have a faint pattern of narrow and narrower stripes, light brown on the white background. There is a simple pewter brooch at the throat. The vest and skirt are also dark forest green, and match the overcoat, but the fabric is not as stiff. The vest buttons also match. Susan loves to wear this when the weather is frosty cold. Stormy would dearly love to wear this! Spaghetti Monster sketched this for me.

So it's June, I'm late, but the thread is still open... I wanted to create a piece of art just featuring the dress, but things got away from me, and so now I'm just going to put my art here.
Frostwish's dress combines flower petals and ice crystals--being a winter fairy, she can easily wear it without getting cold.  The blue petals of the dress become more translucent at the bottom of the skirt and up by the neck, so it looks like it's made entirely of ice. The sleeves, however, are entirely made of ice crystals. There is a swirling piece of ice along her dress and in her hair, inspired from "frost flowers" and their swirling designs. And the shoes are a light layer of petals, mostly accented with tiny, shining ice crystals. It's the perfect dress for a winter fairy!
