The Night of the Living Bobble: A Spooky Tale
It was a dark night during the annual Masquerade Ball, which happens the day before the Animal Masquerade. Four fairies decided that they wood camp out in the wilderness: The Silver Trees. But what they thought was going to be a happy, little camping trip, turned out to become something...different.
"I hope you all are ready for a night spent in the Silver Trees!" Animal fairy, Nollie, teased her three other friends, as they are all flying towards the wilderness "You bet we are!" Olwen, a garden fairy, said excitedly "Do we have to stay there the whole night? It's going to get reeaally dark." Luminaria, who is a light fairy, asked. "Oh, Lumi, you aren't afraid, are you?" Water fairy Cera asked her friend "You know me, Cera. I'm a light fairy. I'm supposed to be afraid of the dark." Luminarnia says "Funny how there are many other light fairies that don't mind the dark." Nollie says Luminaria sighs "True..." "Let's just forget about being scared and focus on finding the perfect camping spot. The Silver Trees are up ahead and we need to be careful." Cera tells her friends When the four fairies arrived at the edge of the Silver Trees, they all took a deep breath and flew into the spooky place. They flew around for a short time, finally settling on a spot deep in the wilderness. After they set up their camp and a fire, they decided to tell some scary stories as night fell. "I'll go first." Nollie says "This story is called 'The Tale of the Two-headed Snake'." Everyone gasps, as Nollie then starts her story. ".... and the only thing that was left of the snake, was a shiny fang!" Nollie finished. There's a scream that makes everyone jump, but they soon realize it's just Luminaria. "What? That was a really scary." The skittish light fairy says "Oh, Lumi." Cera sighs "Okay. now it's my turn. This story is called 'The Legend of the Two Ghostly Owls'. Hahaha!" "Oh dear." Luminaria says under her breath Cera then begins her tale. When she finishes, you could tell by the expression on the other fairy's faces, it was scarier than the last. "... both owls then vanished before the fairy's eyes. You want to know what happened next?" Cera asks Everyone nods, except Luminaria. "The two ghostly owls... were never seen again. BUT, some say they still haunt this wilderness. MUAHAHAHA!!!!" "AAAAH!!!" Luminaria screams again "Oh, for Mother Dove's sake, Luminaria. It's just a story." Cera says "There's nothing to be afraid of, Lumi." Olwen tries to calm her friend down "But, now it's my turn to tell a scary story." "Oh no." Luminaria moans "Hah! This should be good." Nollie says, knowing that Olwen was not one to enjoy hearing or telling a scary story. Also, even if she did like scary stories, she's awful at telling them "Oh you just wait. This one will knock your wings off. This spooky tale is about a wicked pirate, with a shiny metal hook replacing his left hand. They call him.... Captain Hook." Nollie and Cera, wide-eyed, zoom over to Luminaria and huddle with her, all three of them already scared of the story. At the end of Olwen's tale, the trio of scared fairies are hiding behind the log they were sitting on. "... and the Captain was then chased away by a crocodile, named Tic Toc Crock, and was never, ever, EVER seen again. Although, there is a rumor that at midnight on this very night at Peg-Leg Point, you can see his ghostly ship sailing past Never Land and hear his ghostly, pirate-y, laughter!!!" Nollie, Cera, and Luminaria all three scream in fright! "Shhh! Guys! Be quiet! I think I hear something." Olwen says, interrupting the trio's screaming... And Olwen is right. She did hear something. And now since there's silence, the other three fairies can hear the weird noise too. Something, someone, is making a loud racket in the woods tonight. CLINK! CLANK! CLINK! CLANK! "What is that?" Luminaria whispers "I don't know." Olwen answers back in the same tone "But it's coming closer." "We should all hide!" Cera suggests "I agree. Come on!" Nollie says So, the four fairies zip off into their tents, terrified. After all the of the scary stories they told, their minds automatically went to "Is it the snake? Or the two owls? Is the pirate? Or something even worse!". Suddenly, the fairies could see a shadowy figure outside of their tents. They all, carefully and quietly, peep their little heads out of their tents to see who or what is at their camp-site. And who is there? None other than Bobble, the tinker-talent sparrow-man. He brought all of his pots and pans along with him and was making a lot of noise. The four fairies were relieved that it wasn't a strange creature or a pirate or anything, but they were all still too scared to get out of their tents. After all, maybe it wasn't Bobble. Maybe it was some sort of shape-shifting creature thing that was waiting for the fairies to come out of their tents so it could eat them. At least, that is what they thought until Bobble made a cake. Then they all sat around the campfire, fears aside, and shared a delicious pumpkin-spice cake. The End. HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERY FAIRY!!!! P.s. Did you know that this story was inspired the story "A Spooky Tale" in the first Tinkerbell DS game? I hope you all enjoyed this! P.p.s.: I thought, since the DS game had a Masquerade Ball during this time of year and PH had the Animal Masquerade, that the first would happen the day before the Animal Masquerade and the latter/the Animal Masquerade would happen after the Masquerade Ball. I don't know for sure if this was the way it was, but I'm pretending it is. It makes sense, too. A masquerade ball celebrating/the day before the Animal Masquerade! Spooky! Spook-tacular short story, Alexa! I definitely enjoyed it. I wasn't expecting Bobble at the end, which I guess is kind of silly because his name was in the title.
Happy Halloween to you too! ___________________ |
