Books for fairy-lovers! :)
A few years ago, my friend got this book for me on my birthday called Wings, by Aprilynne Pike. I really loved it--but I won't say too much about it because I might let a few spoilers slip...
But if you really wanna know, look for these boxes. Anyway, I decided I'd share the title with you guys and I'd recommend it to any one who loves fairies (and I'm pretty sure we all do ) I think it's graded as like a middle-grade book; there's nothing scary in it. See, I knew someone would read one of these. Especially when she blossoms. Faeries are plants... who knew? So, yes, I love this book. Does anyone else have a fairy book they'd like to share? I can never find the good ones... Wings was given to me ~Twilight |

Does the book happen to have a girl named Tamisin in it? Because I have a book that was originally called wings but now they changed it to fairy wings. I was just wondering if it was the same book!
Here is the link to the thread where I reviewed the book: http://www.pixiehollowforums.com/for...ad.php?t=10681 |

No, it's about a girl named Laurel. I got this book for Christmas & loved it! It's not really similar to Pixie Hollow, but if you love fairies then I'm sure you'll enjoy it!
Do you mean Wicked Lovely? If so, I got that book for Christmas too & it was great! Last edited by Neverbelle; 04-13-2012 at 02:41 AM. Reason: added something |

Ooh, fairy books!

I actually haven't heard of the book you are talking about, Twilight... I think I'll have to look it up! I think I'm also going to make some other book recommendations, if thats alright... I once read this book called, "The Faerie Path" by Frewin Jones. Its the first book in the series (the other two are called "The Lost Queen" and "The Sorcerer King") and that was also a good book! I've only read the first and second one... I guess I really have never read the third... I wonder why...? I've also read this other series of books. The series itself doesn't have a name, but the first book is called "Phillippa Fisher's Fairy Godsister", and its by Liz Kessler. (She's the author of the Emily Windsnap books--a series about a mermaid). This book is about Phillippa and her fairy godsister (a younger fairy godmother) named Daisy. Daisy and Phillippa can't seem to get along, and each of Phillippa's two out of three wishes that Daisy grants seem to be making her life worse rather than better. Then, they have to figure out a way to fix the whole mess without anyone discovering Daisy's secret identity. I think in this series, there is only three current books: the first one; "Phillippa Fisher and the Dream Maker's Daughter", and "Phillippa Fisher and the Fairy's Promise". I'm pretty sure I've read plenty of other fairy books, but I either can't remember the titles, they're part of the Disney Fairies line, or they were insignificant popcorn Last edited by popcorn1234; 04-13-2012 at 02:34 AM. But, I'll definitely have to check out Fairy Wings, it sounds like something I'd read. Thanks for all the other suggestions! I have a feeling my library card will be taking a hit here any time soon... ~Twilight |

Andrew Lang's fairy tales
Andrew Lang's fairy tale books! He collected famous old fairy tales from around the world.
They have lots of magic and magical creatures, but only a few fairies. "Blue Fairy Book" "Red Fairy Book" "Green Fairy Book" Stormy

A couple years ago I read the book Tithe: A Modern Faerie Tale by Holly Black. The fairies in the books though are the traditional kind, like in Celtic folklore. It's a series but I've only read the first one and haven't gotten around to read the others yet. It was good though.
There's also Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments series but the fairies are the traditional type who steal your children and torture people, etc. I don't think they're the main focal point either. I haven't read them yet but plan to over the summer because I've heard they're good. If you've read the Hunger Games apparently it's something that would appeal to you because it's always suggested to me in lists. Last edited by Moonstone; 04-22-2012 at 05:20 PM. |

The Faerie Reel
"The Faerie Reel" is a really good collection of fairy stories. They're not all pixies though, it covers mostly "Seelie Court" kind of fairies.
