A Fairy Haiku - April 2016 Contest
April is National Poetry Month This month's contest will highlight a fun but challenging type of poetry The Haiku! A Haiku is a traditional Japanese poetry. It is a 17-syllable verse form consisting of three lines in a pattern of 5, 7, and 5 syllables. Normally, a haiku would include a reference to one of the four seasons. Your challenge will be to write a haiku and try to use as many of the rules of a tradition haiku as you can. Of course the main point is to have fun and be as creative as you can be! Everyone that submits an entry will receive this lovely award commemorating their creativity and bravery to share their poetry. Don't be long writing This contest will end before The spring flowers die (or on April 30th) Whew I did it!! Your turn

I decided to write about a season, but, if anyfairy knows me they know that if I do it for one season, I have to do it for all of them, so here are 4 haiku's (one for each season).
Winter Snowman building fun Tender snowflake in my hand Love these winter days Spring Summer Fall

Loved reading everyone's haikus so far! I wrote a few last night before going to sleep. (Why do I seem to be able to write only late at night?) I hope you'll like them.

Flowers blooming in Sunlit meadows, gently stirred By a warm spring breeze In a haze of heat Come the joy-filled golden days Summer has arrived Swirling showers of Leaves painted in sunset hues Falling into place The creeping chill and Howling winds frame a world of Icy perfection Yet another string Of endings and beginnings A new cycle starts Beautiful haikus, everyone! I absolutely love poetry; I had a lot of fun writing these.

Nostalgia and Confidence (a haiku for pixies)
Nostalgia and Confidence
September Nineteenth: Dry autumn leaves crumbled, but Spring always returns [I picked September 19 because it's a day with special meaning for Pixie Hollow]
