Sorry for not replying sooner! Do you use GIMP to edit your pictures? That's the only way I know how to do a transparent edge and I could make a tutorial if you like. A transparent edge is when the edges of a graphic are completely invisible. So using my badge as an example, that white border around the badge would disappear if I erased it in GIMP and gave it transparency. Then if I save it as a certain file type, when you upload the picture to a website (Ex. forums) the background of the page shows through, and not the white. Its actually similar to if I were to print and cut out the badge, I would be able to paste in anywhere without the white border, and be able to see the background.
