If you're not quite happy with a face drawing, I find what helps the most is the very first rough sketch, so that you have an idea of where all the facial features should go. You'd be surprised how much of a difference it makes by adding those very first guiding lines!

Those line-arts are painful
except for the skirt and its ruffles (I took a bit speed paint for that, so it looks messed up
